I think I lied to myself when I said “40 was a good year.” It was a good year but it was still tough.
I choose to focus on the growth. I choose to see it as good. It was necessary to help me get through. But it was hard as hell. It felt like all suffering and lessons-ugh?!
I lost my marriage years ago, but still healing. I started life over as a single mom, figured out who I was again, tried dating and realized that was my stupid era. My character was attacked by friends that turned out not to be friends and I’ve been sitting here honestly not sure how much more I can take. I’m so tired.
But on my birthday I saw online something that gave me hope, this article said, “I’m 41 now and 40 was not that great of a year for me looking back. In the Bible there are so many examples of trials for 40 days. So my mantra has been ‘and then 41.’ I hope in your 41st year God does all of his redeeming in you.”
In the Bible, 40 is one of the most significant symbolic numbers. It generally represents a season of testing, trial, preparation, purification, waiting, or transformation before something new begins.
Forty is where the waiting happens.
It rained for 40 days before the skies cleared.
Israel wandered for 40 years before entering the Promised Land.
Jesus fasted for 40 days before beginning His ministry.
Goliath challenged Israel for 40 days before David walked onto the battlefield.
The Bible doesn’t really talk about about 41…
But I can’t help wondering about it. Since 41 is what comes after the waiting.
So here we go… “& then 41 and 42”!
